Core Beliefs

The Bible is the Word of God.
Believers are made new.
Everyone was created to make a difference.
Who is God?
We believe in one God. The same God who created the entire universe and everything that’s in it. We believe God is sovereign, loving, just, perfect, all-powerful, all-knowing, and is eternally present in three distinct persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Who is Jesus?
We believe Jesus is the Son of God. He lived a sinless life and voluntarily died on the cross in our place as full payment for the sins of all people. But, unlike anyone else throughout history, Jesus defeated the power of sin and death by rising from the dead. After he appeared to over 500 people, Jesus ascended into Heaven to provide access and reconciliation between God and people. When God has fulfilled his purpose with this earth, He will send Jesus to return and reign Lord of all.

Who is the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is the comforter, counselor and helper sent for all believers. He also makes people aware of their need for God and draws people into that relationship. We also believe the Holy Spirit, which lives within us at the moment of salvation, provides guidance for doing what is right and understanding for spiritual truth.

What is the Bible?
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error, and is the source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. The Bible’s truth is timeless and speaks to our everyday lives.

What is salvation?
All people are separated from God by their very nature. From the beginning of our lives we are inclined toward sin. Sin is any thought or action that opposes God’s original design for the world. Since God is perfect and all people are naturally rebellious, we have no way of restoring our relationship with God by our own effort.
However, because of His love and grace, God made a way for us to return to Him. Jesus Christ was sent to Earth as both fully God and fully man to be punished and die on our behalf, and to rise again. When we place our trust in Him, acknowledging that He is King of all and submitting to His authority, God brings us back into alignment with His will.
He saves us from our bondage to sin, gives us His Spirit to guide and empower us to live a life set apart for Him, and restores us to eternal life with Him.

What is the Church?
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith in the saving work of Jesus Christ. The purpose of a local church is to gather believers to worship God, encourage fellowship with one another, equip Christians for godly service, and share the message of salvation with those who do not yet know Him. The church also practices baptism and communion as commanded by Christ.

What is the Christian life?
We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Holy Spirit, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Jesus.
