Why Person County?

Gap between Spiritual Roots & Spiritual Renewal

  • Roxboro and the broader Person County area have deep spiritual roots. Many people would say they believe in God. But cultural Christianity does not equal devoted discipleship. The vast majority of residents—around 90%—do not attend church regularly, and few are actively being discipled or equipped to lead others in faith.

Untapped Missions Potential

  • Most church plants focus on urban centers, but rural and small-town America has often been overlooked. We believe Person County can become a sending ground—not just a mission field. We’re not just planting a church to reach Person County. We’re planting a church that raises up and sends from Person County in order to reach the world.

Neglected Community

  • 24% of children in Person County are considered food insecure, overdose-related deaths in the state have risen by 20%, and over half of students are not meeting grade-level expectations. Roxboro and Person County need more than just another worship service—it needs a spiritual family on mission, living the Gospel in neighborhoods, homes, and serving the community.
